In Kindergarten, students explored the similarities between the survival needs of plants, animals, and people, learning how to care for living creatures and create suitable habitats. This hands-on lesson culminated in an exciting project—hatching baby chicks!

We are excited to announce that St. Peter’s School has officially joined the Global Schools Program, an initiative of the United Nations Sustainable Development Solutions Network (SDSN). This recognition places our school within a global community of educators and institutions dedicated to integrating sustainable development into education.

This fall, SPS received a remarkable gift: a hand-sewn quilt created in 1978 by a dedicated group of St. Peter’s families and friends. Each panel tells a story, celebrating iconic Philadelphia landmarks and life at SPS. From Penn’s Landing to the Italian Market, the quilt captures the vibrant spirit of our city and school community.

This holiday season, we’re delighted to share a special piece of St. Peter’s School history. While exploring our archives, we uncovered vintage vinyl recordings of the St. Peter’s Choir School performing beloved holiday classics, including O Come, All Ye Faithful, Silent Night, Hark! The Herald Angels Sing, and O Little Town of Bethlehem.

Last year, we kicked off an incredible new tradition with our very first Cardinal Day, a celebration of everything that makes St. Peter’s School so special. We’re thrilled to announce that Cardinal Day is back on February 6!

This fall, the St. Peter’s School community came together to honor the remarkable legacy of former Head of School Caroline E. Seamans with a special rededication ceremony for the Caroline E. Seamans Early Childhood Wing.

Our School Keys are the foundational tenets that are at the core of how we educate our students and what our families should expect to experience while at St. Peter’s School. The School has reimagined our “School Keys” and implemented the new Keys to our Culture, which include the following: Character, Confidence, Curiosity, Creativity, and Community.

Play has always been an essential component of a St. Peter’s School education, and each day, our playground is filled with joyful children. The recent renovation to the playground space has been a big success, and we are thrilled to see our students, new and returning, young and old, out playing and enjoying the benefits of the new structures and the improved space.

Welcome back to another year at St. Peter's. We hope you enjoyed our Welcome Back Fair on Tuesday and are eager to get the year started. We are excited to introduce our new students and their families to our community and to say hello to all of our returning families as well. This year's theme is Character, and we look forward to discussing ways our students can demonstrate good character and become their best selves.
