Toy Drive Benefits The Child Abuse Prevention Effort
January 9th, 2009
From the CAPE web site, http://www.capepa.org/: The Child Abuse Prevention Effort (CAPE) was founded on January 18, 1973 by Judge Lisa Richette after seeing too many of Philadelphia’s children hurt or neglected by their parents or caregivers. CAPE is one of the few organizations in Philadelphia started by volunteers without the benefit of a grant or endowment. CAPE is a nonprofit, charitable organization offering Prevention Programs which specifically address issues of child abuse and neglect through direct services to families. To support the annual toy/teen supplies drive, we filled large boxes in the first floor parlor. The Eighth Grade along with Mr. Weymouth and Ms. Kreider delivered the toys and gifts to the CAPE office at 8001 Roosevelt Boulevard.
