Why Give?

We give in so many ways, on so many occasions. St. Peter’s would not be St. Peter’s were it not for the tireless, often Herculean, efforts of our volunteers. St. Peter’s is abundantly blessed with deeply committed families. Families committed to the well-being of their children, to their children’s school, and to their community. Clearly, we share a common interest. The degree to which we continue to support our common interest will significantly shape the scope of our success.

We give back because it feels good. By giving back, we acknowledge and experience a stake in the current and future wellness of an institution and a community that provides our families with so much that is good. This is why we participate. We recognize that our efforts enhance our children’s school and our community. Who would want it otherwise?

I also believe we give back because we are grateful for all that we’ve been given and all that we have: the fruits with which we are individually and collectively blessed. I am very grateful for all that I have. And I know that St. Peter’s School is a significant part of what I have. Our school community, the friendships my children and I have formed here, are elementally important aspects of my life, now and forever. For this I am profoundly grateful.

Gratitude makes us stronger. Giving back unites us. It makes anything and everything possible.
