Summer Camps Underway

July 18th, 2011

Our summer camps are off to a great start.  For younger students, the day is full of age appropriate activities including circle time, music, arts and crafts, French lessons, active games, and plenty of time outside. All of our teachers are experienced educators. Visiting musicians, animal enthusiasts, and singers supplement the program each week. Pictured is Lynne of Safari Parities with her Patagonian cavy, the second largest species of rodent in the world!  Students in our Theater Camp, “Summer Stage”, are having a blast too.  Summer Stage offers two theater camp programs and free performances for the community at the end of each session. Theater camp: kids write and direct their own one-act plays. Musical camp: kids learn songs and dances from classic musicals.  We just began our summer Science Explorer’s Camp too. According to their materials, “Science Explorers week-long day camps are a hands-on approach to science and provide children the unique opportunity to conduct exciting and engaging experiments and activities. The curriculum is developed by educators and lessons are aligned with the national science standards. In short, we make learning science FUN!”
