Second Grade Adopt a Whale Bake Sale
October 15th, 2008
On Wednesday, October 8th, the Second Grade at St. Peter’s School had their annual Adopt a Whale Bake Sale. Thanks to the preparation and participation of all of the children and their families, the event was a huge success. The Second Grade wants to thank all of the students, faculty, and friends who purchased a tasty treat, helping them raise an incredible $359!
The sale was such a huge success that each class was able to adopt a humpback whale! One of the whales adopted is named Pepper and the other whale is named Salt! In addition, the students were pleased to be able to make a sizable addition donation to the Whale and Dolphin Conservation Society (WDCS).
The WDCS is the world’s most active charity dedicated to the conservation and welfare of all whales, dolphins, and porpoises. After much time spent studying these gentle giants in science class, the Second Grade was very excited to raise funds to help protect whales and their environment.
