Philabudance Project led by Second Grade
December 14th, 2011
The Second Grade coordinated a school-wide drive collecting “Notes of Cheer” for Philabudance. According to their website, “Philabundance was created in 1984 with the simple belief that no man, woman or child should go hungry. Our growth and eventual integration with the Philadelphia Food Bank in 2005 has made us the region’s largest hunger relief organization.” Students in the Early Childhood Division, Lower School, and Upper School at St. Peter’s made lovely letters and cards for Philabundance to include in their delivery of food packages. These beautiful, caring, and creative messages are sure to put smiles on the faces of the people who receive them.
To further support the important work that Philabundance does, the Second Grade held a snack sale fundraiser that raised a total of $268.32. Thank you to everybody who made a treat for our sale as well as to everyone who purchased an item in support of our fundraiser. A special thank you goes out to our friends at Sweet Freedom Bakery who very generously donated delicious allergen-free cookies!
