Notes from Our Upper School Declamation
March 18th, 2012
There were seventeen students who participated in our February Declamation. Entries this time included works by Robert Louis Stevenson, Emily Dickinson, Ogden Nash, and an oration of part of the English Magna Carta among many others. Congratulations go to Seventh Grader Madison Raju (’13) for her masterful declamation of “The Spider and the Fly” by Mary Howitt that took top honors. The entertainment portion of the day featured the Fifth Grade Percussion Ensemble that did a fabulous job playing an African riff conducted by Mr. Silver.
