Ms Bernardi Reads to the Lower School Students
October 11th, 2011
On Tuesday, October 4th St. Peter’s Lower School was pleased to welcome back a very good friend of our school, Ms. Margaret Bernardi. Ms. Bernardi is the Children’s Librarian at the Independence Branch of the Free Library located on 7th Street between Market and Chestnut Streets. Named for its proximity to Independence National Park, this branch serves people who live in Society Hill, Old City, Queen Village, Washington Square West, and Chinatown. Many St. Peter’s students are frequent visitors to Ms. Bernardi’s amazing children’s department and participated in the library’s summer reading program. At her assembly, Ms. Bernardi entertained us by reading a variety of seasonal and holiday stories. She also invited us to participate in the many wonderful programs and services that her library provides. We all look forward to visiting this neighborhood treasure for hours of reading enjoyment!
