Lower School Science Night

November 16th, 2010

The rain didn’t stop us from having an amazing turnout on Thursday, November 4th for our First Annual Lower School Science Night! Everyone had a blast with our special guest from Science Explorers, the very funny and talented Jupiter Jen. Science Explorers is an award-winning company that introduces children to the wonders of science by providing inquiry based programs. Jupiter Jen presented an exciting and interactive show called Motion Commotion where we explored Newton’s laws of Motion and the power of air. Highlights included the use of an incredible potato launcher and an air powered blaster with winds of over 100 miles per hour! Following the assembly, families spread out into our classrooms, working hard together to create their own “Savvy Circuit” inventions. Using motors, batteries, fans, craft sticks, colored paper and tape, quite a variety of impressive and creative contraptions were invented that evening! Our students are still talking about what they learned and all of the fun they had at Lower School Science Night!
