Kindergarten Sends Vitamins to Africa
December 15th, 2010
This fall the Kindergarten chose to do a good deed for children in Africa. They learned about how in Kroo Bay in the Sierra Leone, children go a to youth group on Saturdays, and after about an hour of learning and singing, they are given an egg for protein, and, when the resources are available, a children’s vitamin. The St. Peter’s children helped to ensure that the children in Kroo Bay will have vitamins for many weeks by each shopping for and bringing in a bottle of vitamins. The children then made beautiful cards to send along with the package with heartfelt sentiments such as “We hope you grow strong.” The large, nourishing package will be sent to a contact in Colorado who will then send the vitamins and well wishes with volunteers when they they travel to Africa.
