It’s All Greek to Them!
March 19th, 2009
On Tuesday, March 10, 2009, Fifth Graders and their families celebrated ‘Ancient Greek Day’. It was fabulous! Students presented their ‘Gods and Goddesses’ projects which involved making a life-size sculpture of a god or goddess, writing a report, and giving a verbal presentation of their research. All the hard work paid off, as the presentations were excellent! Next, Fifth Graders participated (and luckily won!) in a quiz on Ancient Greece against their parents. Well done, Fifth Grade!
Ancient Greek Day ended with a delicious Greek feast. Each family contributed delicacies to the feast, and we all enjoyed Greek salad, Greek butter cookies, Orzo pasta salad, Baklava and much more. We are all very excited about our forthcoming studies of ancient Rome and Ancient Rome Day!
