Harlem Globetrotter Visits St. Peter’s School
March 9th, 2009
Harlem Globetrotter “Scooter” Christensen paid a surprise visit to St. Peter’s School Wednesday March 4 to help kick off our “175 Years – 175 Good Deeds” celebration. In his uniform sweats and spinning a red, white and blue basketball on his fingertips, Scooter spoke of the ‘Trotter’s CHEER program which teaches Consideration, Healthy body Healthy mind, Effort, Enthusiasm and Responsibility. A few lucky students and one lucky teacher learned and flawlessly executed a series of patented Globetrotter tricks in the “Circle of Magic” to the cheers of the School audience. Scooter answered lots of questions from the children, and we all learned a lot about this terrific organization that does so many Good Deeds around the world, entertaining audiences all the while.
HUGE thanks go out to Mr. Michael Salzburg of Campbell Soup Company, for acting as liaison between St. Peter’s School and the Harlem Globetrotter organization and making Scooter’s visit possible. As a sponsor of the Globetrotter’s program, Campbell Soup is encouraging people everywhere to eat healthy, exercise, and keep positive. Thanks, Mike, for sharing Campbell Soup’s Good Deed with St. Peter’s School!
