Good Deed: Soup from the South Street Diner
June 4th, 2009
Mrs. Seltzer (Early Childhood Division Director) and Mrs. Scirrotto (Administrative Assistant to the Head of School) were very lucky ladies on June 3. Why? They went on a breakfast date with three Pre-kindergarten boys, Trevor Antram, Mason Siegel, and Rami Simon, to the South Street Diner! They all enjoyed a yummy breakfast. In recognition of the School’s 175th Anniversary and our commitment to doing 175 good deeds for our community and the City of Philadelphia, George Evangelou, the owner of South Street Diner, donated two vats of soup via Philabundance to a homeless shelter in Philadelphia. The boys expressed their thanks on behalf of the School by shaking Mr. Evangelou’s hand and presenting him with an 175th Anniversary pin. And they remembered their classmates and brought some chocolate chip cookies back to school for snack time! It was the good deed that kept on giving!
