Good Deed- Second Grade Annual Adopt-a-Whale Bake Sale
October 8th, 2009
On Thursday, October 8th, the Second Grade held their annual Adopt-a-Whale Bake Sale to raise money to help save and protect whales around the world. The event was a huge success raising $400! Thank you to all of the families who brought in delicious treats as well as to all of the students, faculty, and families who supported our fundraiser. Funds raised were donated to the Whale and Dolphin Conservation Society, the global voice for the protection of whales, dolphins, and their environment. Established in 1987, WDCS is the world’s most active charity dedicated to the conservation and welfare of all whales, dolphins and porpoises. We were so excited to be able to adopt two humpback whales named Reflection and Coral, that feed off of the coast of New England. By adopting these gentle giants, St. Peter’s Second grade helps continue the work of WDCS and ensures the safe future for these magnificent animals!
