Good Deed-MLK Day of Service
February 5th, 2010
To celebrate Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day first graders Emma Young, Loughlin Browne and younger brother Brian Browne took part in the National Constitution Center’s MLK Day of Service Quilting Project. They helped pin together and sew pillows that will be donated to Women Against Abuse, a local organization that provides advocacy and services to victims of domestic violence. They had fun practicing their stitching and needle threading, and took a break to watch a theatrical rendition of MLK’s “I Have A Dream” speech. It was a great way to experience the spirit of the day.
