Good Deed: Miss Lewin’s Kindergarten Class Makes Some Special Deliveries
May 5th, 2009
On Monday, May 4, 2009, Miss Lewin’s Kindergarten class cooked up a special good deed in their classroom! The nine children prepared healthy breakfasts for nine adults as a special thank you for a wonderful school year. Each student wrote and decorated a handmade card that they placed on a beautiful tray that included a bagel and cream cheese, a mini-muffin, fresh fruit salad, and a tulip. The good deed coordinated with the students’ recent studies and discussions of growth and nutrition and kindness. The recipients of the Kindergarteners’ good deed included their seven “specials” teachers; our Head of School, Mr. Costello; and our Head Custodian, Mr. Tri Ho. Dafna Hananel (mother of Roi) and Nancy Klinghoffer (mother of Ami) helped to prepare and deliver the breakfast trays. It was a truly memorable morning for both the good deed doers and the recipients. It was a “breakfast in bed”-esque good deed that may have lacked a fluffy bed and pillow, but came with lots of extra hugs.
