How to Apply

For All Candidates:

Contact St.Peter’s School to receive an admissions packet.
Attend a St. Peter’s School Open House. (optional)
Send in a completed application along with an application fee of $50 made payable to St. Peter’s School. Applications may be submitted at any time during the school year prior to the year in which the student will enroll. We recommend beginning this process in the fall to ensure that your admissions file is complete before the first meeting of the Admissions Committee in February.
Upon receipt of your child’s application, the admissions office at St. Peter’s will contact you to schedule a parent meeting with the Admissions Director. This visit will give you the opportunity to see the campus during the school day and to discuss your child’s application. During this visit you will receive a packet containing a teacher recommendation to be completed by your child’s current teacher.
The Application Deadline for the first round of admission decision is January 4, 2013. Applications received after that date will be considered on a rolling basis after March 1, 2013.
Follow the appropriate admissions process specific to each grade (outlined below).
The Admissions Committee will begin to meet regularly in January. The Admissions Committee will only review completed files. The first of the decision letters will be mailed mid-February. Rolling admissions will continue throughout the spring.

In December the admissions office will contact you with a specific time for your child’s St. Peter’s School play date on January 11, 2012. Preschool candidates visit for a 30-minute session and Prekindergarten candidates visit for a 45-minute session. During the visit, small groups of candidates will have the opportunity to play in our Early Childhood Division with our Early Childhood Division teachers. Parents are invited and encouraged to visit with our Head of School for the duration of the child’s visit.

At the time of your parent meeting we will schedule your child’s St. Peter’s School Classroom Visit. These half-day visits begin at 8:30 am and conclude at 12 pm. Prospective kindergarten applicants will visit in our current Prekindergarten class. During this visit, your child will meet with the Director of Admissions for a Kindergarten readiness assessment.
Kindergarten candidates are required to provide results of the Wechsler Intelligence Test. The Admissions Office will provide a list of local professionals that can administer the test. Families are not limited to those individuals.

At the time of your parent meeting we will schedule your child’s St. Peter’s School Classroom Visit. These full-day visits begin at 8:15 am and conclude at 3 pm. Prospective First Grade applicants will visit in our current Kindergarten class. During this visit, your child will meet with the Director of Admissions for a First Grade readiness assessment.
First Grade candidates are required to provide results of the Wechsler Intelligence Test. The Admissions Office will provide a list of local professionals that can administer the test. Families are not limited to those individuals.

At the time of your parent meeting we will schedule your child’s two day St. Peter’s School Classroom Visit. These two day visits begin at 8:15 am and conclude at 3:15pm. Prospective students will visit in the appropriate grade. During this visit, your child will meet with the Director of Admissions for an assessment in reading, reading comprehension, writing, and mathematics.
Candidates are required to provide results of the Wechsler Intelligence Test. The Admissions Office will provide a list of local professionals that can administer the test. Families are not limited to those individuals.
Along with the teacher recommendation forms, candidates will receive a transcript request form. Teacher recommendation forms and transcript request are to be signed by the parents or guardians and submitted to the current school after December 1.
