Affording the St. Peter’s School Experience

FINANCIAL AID PROGRAM

St. Peter’s School administers a need-based tuition assistance program.  There are several options available to help make a St. Peter’s School education financially accessible to all. All full-time students in grades Kindergarten through Eight are eligible to apply.  Application forms and instructions are available.  These programs are described below.

Financial Aid Program

A St. Peter’s School education represents a significant financial investment in your child’s future. We appreciate the extent of this financial commitment and feel strongly that financial considerations should not be the determining factor in whether your child attends our school. Our financial aid budget helps bridge the gap between what families can afford and the cost of attending St. Peter’s School.

St. Peter’ School determines a family’s need for financial aid based on the School and Student Services (SSS) computation, applicable tax returns and the Financial Aid Committee’s guidelines. However, due to limited funds, financial aid is not guaranteed to all qualified applicants.

Please note that admissions decisions are based on an applicant’s qualifications, not the family’s ability to pay tuition. All financial aid files and information are kept strictly confidential and St. Peter’s School trusts the families receiving aid will do the same with their award.

If you intend to apply for financial aid, be sure to complete the online form. The form and further information can be found at http://sss.nais.org.

There are a handful of organizations in Philadelphia and Pennsylvania that try to assist families in meeting the high costs associated with private school education.  Below are a few programs.

Sallie Mae K-12 Family Education Loan

Sallie Mae has enhanced its K-12 Family Education Loan! They have reduced the rates and eliminated the application fee-making the K-12 Family Education Loan an excellent choice for families funding an education at a private primary or secondary school. You can gather more information and apply for this loan through the link provided above.

The Children’s Scholarship Fund of Philadelphia (CSFP)

Parents apply online or by written application directly to the CSFP by March 1. Awards are made by lottery and the maximum award for private school students is currently $1,900 per year, renewable for four years through 8th grade. Both the school and family must sign documents each year by stated deadlines to ensure that funds are received. This year 1500 new scholarships have been added for children entering grades K - 5. CSFP will consider the first 7,000 families to apply before March 1st.
