Welcome From the Head of School

September 6th, 2018

When I arrived at St. Peter’s School five years ago, I was struck immediately by the sense of community in all aspects of the School. Shaking hands with the Head of School each morning, listening to the kids in classroom discussions, and watching the students engage each other and the teachers are all examples of how the School is intentional about what we do.

Our students develop in many ways through the experiences they share. Academically, socially, and creatively, St. Peter’s School provides opportunities for students to find success, for questions to be asked, and for students to feel connected. Our graduates matriculate to many of the finest schools in the Philadelphia area, prepared to take full advantage of what each has to offer, engaged from their first day. Our alumni regularly tell us that the foundation laid by SPS allowed them to successfully advance in their academic, as well as professional lives. Our students don’t just thrive at school; they thrive at life.

Balancing a rich tradition dating back to 1834 as a Choir School for St. Peter’s Church, the School has evolved ever since. Separating from the church and gaining independence in the late 1960s, St. Peter’s School has spent the last five decades developing our vibrant community. Creating ways to educate students for their futures while honoring the school traditions of our past, we strive for excellence in character, academic pursuits, and creativity.

I encourage you to explore the website or come to see us in person. We value each student and family and hope you too can experience the St. Peter’s School community firsthand.

Sincerely,

Matthew Evans
Head of School
