Our Eighth Graders have been hard at work on their Rube Goldberg Project, an annual part of our Innovation Curriculum. This morning they were able to show their project at work to some of their peers. Great job Class of 2017! Is your inventive student looking forward to creating their project in Eighth Grade?

St. Peter’s School is participating in the annual Martin Luther King Day of Service on Monday, January 16th!
The Martin Luther King, Jr. Day of Service is an opportunity for our school to build relationships outside our usual community through service. In preparation for participation in the annual MLK Day of Service, SPS students will be discussing Dr. King’s legacy, the many who worked with Dr. King in the fight for racial justice, and the struggle that continues today. Younger students will make personal connections with the concepts of fairness, justice, and philanthropy. Older students explore how individuals can use personal interests and strengths to impact the common good. MLK Day of Service is during school hours on Monday, January 16th.
On Friday, January 13, 2017, St. Peter’s School will host our second annual Maker Fair and Shark Tank. This event replaces a traditional career fair with presentations from professionals whose careers focus on “making” and other entrepreneurial pursuits. Presenters range from fashion designers to construction experts to restaurateurs to astronomers. After presentations, interested students will present an “elevator pitch” and field questions from a panel of expert judges of the “Shark Tank.” At the end of the day, one particularly enterprising student will walk away with the funding to make their idea a reality. This event provides students with the unique opportunity to learn directly from the source about careers they might one day pursue, while encouraging them to start putting their own ideas into action.
