4th Grade Visits Brandywine Battlefield
November 16th, 2012
On November 14, the 4th Grades went on a field trip to Brandywine Battlefield in Chester County. There, they learned about the Revolutionary War and the Battle at Brandywine on September 11, 1777. The students learned more about George Washington, Marquis de Lafayette, Sir William Howe, the Continental and British armies, the Quaker lifestyle, currency of that time, and the joys and struggles of daily life. They visited the museum, dressed up as women and soldiers of that era, and toured Washington’s headquarters. The group discovered a lot about revolutionary times that surprised them, and everyone had fun!
