Job Description

Upper School History Teacher (grades five to eight)

St. Peter’s School

Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

We are looking for a unique individual; someone who has a passion for History and the desire to transmit that passion to their middle school age students.  We seek a History scholar who has high, but appropriate, standards, cares as much about the correctness of the written and spoken expression of History as the History itself, and who wants to be part of a team yet is an independent thinker.  Experience in independent schools is a plus.

In addition, the successful candidate will be willing to coach and advise students, be flexible in using local resources (field trips) as an integral part of the curriculum, possess good personal computer skills and has curricular computer expectations for students, has a record of positive parent relations, shows evidence of commitment to one’s own learning and to the art of teaching.

Salary will be commensurate with experience.

Art Teacher for Grades 2 - 8

The Arts are a central part of our curriculum and culture. We are looking for a teacher who is an active artist and who wants to draw out the talent in each student. This person will encourage each child to produce their best work and display it in the school. Our curriculum encompasses but is not limited to: • clay • sculpture • painting • weaving • puppets • 3-D projects • print making • descriptive, imaginative, and memory projects Other Information
