For the last nine years Mr. Costello and his wife have volunteered at Independence National Park as gardeners. They tend the garden next to the Todd House at the corner of Fourth and Spruce. The Costellos especially enjoy trying new types of plants and talking to visitors from all over the world who stop by to share gardening tips and to appreciate a snapshot of color in the middle of our city. Their work brings beauty and joy to Philadelphia and its many tourists.
